It was in 2006 when Krakota's production talent was picked up on by none other than scene stalwarts Total Science, who gave the 21 year old his debut release on their influential C.I.A. imprint in 2010 with the tracks Solid Shout & Callow. Since then he’s not looked back, releasing music with a number of respected labels within drum & bass including Ingredients Records, Integral and Kasra’s Critical Modulations.
Fast forward to 2016 and he's signed exclusively to one of the biggest labels around, Hospital Records. After 2 singles (Xylo/Irregular, Ice Hands/Ghosts) and an EP (Citadels) for the label, he released his debut album ‘Strange System’ in 2016. Covering the full gamut of Drum & Bass, it firmly established him as an essential part of Hospital empire, and with follow up projects already under way, you can be sure there will be no way of escaping Krakota’s bass heavy, break laden productions any time soon.
Calibre prepares to release his latest LP on his own Signature Recordings at the end of March. 'The Deep' is Calibre's 8th studio album, not including the 4 instalments of the Shelflife series, or the two albums under the Dominick Martin name. Check out clips + pre-order via the Signature store.
He also dropped a non D&B album, 'Grow', on Craig Richards' hugely respected 'The Nothing Special' label at the end of 2016 which was roundly praised by both critics & fans.
You can also check out a rare and in-depth recent interview for Resident Advisor, as well as his 'One Mix' for Apple Beats Radio alongside long time cohort DRS.
Truly one of electronic music most vital, inspiring and essential artists.
